Stream Your GoPro Videos Via WiFi
After the previous release date of February 2012, the WiFi BacPac was delayed, but now is finally here! Just Released this month, the brand new GoPro Wifi BacPac can control your GoPro remotely from up to 600′. It is a BacPac add-on and comes with the expansion backdoor, and is controlled by a very small lightweight remote.
Giving you the ability to stream all your videos right to the internet without the need for a computer!
With the new WiFi BacPac it allows you to stream video right to your computer, ipod, ipad, or smartphone for viewing. You can watch exactly what you are filming while you are filming it.
What You Get:
- Wi-Fi BacPac (with built-in Li-ion Battery)
- Wi-Fi Remote (with built-in Li-ion Battery)
- Remote Charging Cable
- Remote Attachment Key
- Remote Attachment Strap
- Waterproof Backdoor
- Non-waterproof Backdoor
- 12” USB Charging Cable
The included remote gives you the capability to control up to 50 cameras at one time, and you can also adjust the camera settings via the wireless remote. This is great for those that mount the camera in a location that is very difficult to reach or near impossible to access to turn the camera on/ off.
Live Preview App
I think one of the best features of this accessory is the live preview and playback onto you iPhone or android phone. All you need to do is downlaod the app and you can see exactly what the camera is recording. It allows you to check and see if the camera is pointed exactly in the direction you want.
You can also control the GoPro with your phone as well; start/ stop recording and change settings. You can even share videos to the internet via WiFi and instantly post them to Facebook or YouTube. It eliminates the need for downloading to a computer to upload your videos.
Great uses for the WiFi BacPac
I have discussed with many people the great uses for this remote and they are in love with it because they can control the camera while flying their small aircraft with the GoPro mounted to the wings of their plane or mounted to the wings of their hang gliders.
I always wanted a remote for when I’m snowboarding, so I could easily see if the camera mounted on my helmet is filming or not, and so I can easily turn the camera on or off.
It also will work great for when I am kite boarding and have the camera mounted up in the top of the kite, I will be able to film just the short segments that I want and not hours of boring video.
The only negative aspect of the WiFi remote is that you can not use the WiFi remote to control the camera if it is underwater. Even if the camera is just a few inches below water the remote will not be able to send the proper signal to activate the camera or change settings.
If you have the original HD Hero, the remote will still work, but you will be unable to use the WiFi video streaming function. You need the HD Hero2 camera to be able to use the GoPro app and video streaming.
Most reviews are very good about this new accessory, the only bad one was about the inability to control underwater, but otherwise every one loves this. Since I fist got my GoPro I always said it would be amazing if it had a remote, and sure enough 2 years later GoPro released a remote.
Normally the WiFi BacPac + Remote goes for $100 plus shipping, but by Clicking Here you will find it discounted and you might even qualify for free 2-3 day shipping.
